Beautiful. I'm taking two journaling classes this spring and they both incorporate watercolors. I have NO experience with them and am so darned nervous!
Here are a couple of pictures of our little ranch out here in Eastern Washington. We have horses, yup. Three of them and one mule. We call our place "The Last Chance Ranch". Our version of a geriatric retirement home for us old folks and animals! Our little Miss Ruby Ann & her partner in crime Irene, the Devil Cat. The handsome horse is " my man Dan". Hard to believe he is 22. Second two pics are the view out our dining room window. Sometimes the horses are out there grazing. Very peaceful scene. I bit the bullet.. Didn't think I would ever do this blog thing but seems like it is becoming the thing to do. I have opened up and Etsy shop and as much time as it takes to set up, I am wondering about the time it takes to blog. One thing for sure, it is actually a good way to keep friends posted on what's happening in our world. I am sure they appreciate that a lot more than forwarded jokes! Looking forward to today as a friend is coming to get some...
What started out as a great Valentine's Day is ending up a day I will never forget.. We had to put down our old friend, an hour ago, the one horse that taught Mike and I how to ride. We had her for 18 years. She was 29. These pictures were just taken last spring. She had just turned 29. Hard to believe as she was always a very well built horse.. It wasn't age that was her dimise, but the ice in the corral. She slipped while running and playing with the other horses and hit her head on a door latch to the stalls. She was fatally injured and Mike had to help her out of her misery.. which is such a hard thing to do... What a sweet personality this little mare had. She loved people and attention and would do anything for you. Great trail horse. She loved the trails and won lots of ribbons on trail courses in competition. Our grandkids all got their first rides on this mare. Her name was Weebit. Short for Weebit O Trouble which she never was. Okay.. I can't write any more ...
It was worth all the work. I luv the warm, cozy atmosphere the new paint has provided. As you can see, for those that don't know us well, we are into the western theme. And wood.. Probably has a lot to do with the previous home we had a couple of years ago. I miss the logs and the warm atmosphere they provided.. this is a picture of the old house. This rug is a saddle blanket I picked up at a 4H Tack Sale that was held in Spokane last weekend. It had my name all over it!! Front entry door... we bought a new one with bevels and brass. Beautiful rainbows in the morning. This is an overall shot looking from the northend of the living room toward the dining and TV room. Typical clutter on the dining table. I never eat there.... too crowded. From the dining room to the north end of the living room. I am loving the ambiance the evening lighting provides. Very warm and snuggy. That old stove really works except we don't have it hooked up. We have the wood stove in the TV room t...
